Equip and Engage was founded in 2023 by Rev. Tyler Sullivan, an Evangelist and Associate Minister in Missions with the United Pentecostal Church International, who has spent time ministering in over twenty countries.

Together, Tyler and Nichole travel full-time across the United States and abroad ministering through preaching, teaching, and music at various churches, camps, and conferences.

ABOUT US

  • Rev. Tyler Sullivan is a full-time evangelist based in Porter, Texas USA under Pastor Joel McCoy. He was born in Modesto, California and spent his early years in North Carolina and Mississippi until in 1990, his parents returned to California and planted a church in the city of Paradise. It was here that Tyler began to involve himself in the ministry of the local church and leading worship. 16 years later, his family moved to Citrus Heights, California where he continued to work in ministry.

    At the age of 24, he began to evangelize, later returning home to serve as senior associate pastor at First Apostolic Church in Citrus Heights for six years. From 2017-2020 he served as administrative pastor at Calvary Evangelism Center in Sacramento, California.

    He began to work on the Western District Youth Committee in 2011 and then in 2015 was elected as Youth President where he was privileged to serve until 2021. During this time on the team, some of the most fulfilling moments were spent empowering, equipping, and engaging others to spiritually impact the next generation.

    Advancing missions work around the world is one of Tyler’s passions and he has visited over 20 countries helping and promoting works in different ministry capacities. The BEYOND initiative was birthed out of his love for missions.

    He is married to the love of his life, Nichole, and loves traveling, reading, spending time with friends and family, the occasional free-lance graphic design project, and eating at his favorite restaurant, Texas Roadhouse.

  • Dr. Nichole Sullivan is an award-winning piano instructor and collaborative pianist. As a Steinway Teacher Educational Partner, she has developed a reputation as an exceptional music educator.

    Nichole holds a Doctorate of Worship Studies (The Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies), a Master of Arts in Christian Leadership (Hope International University), and a Bachelor of Arts in Music (Kent State University). She is a multi-year recipient of the Steinway & Sons Top Teacher Award and the 2019 Church Mutual Religious Scholars Award.

    Professionally, Nichole owned and operated The Piano Studio, a private music school, in Northeast Ohio from 2016-2023. She was an adjudicator for solo piano events hosted by the National Federation of Music Clubs for nine seasons and was a member of The Cleveland Orchestra Blossom Chorus from 2013-2017.

    Nichole has been part of church music programs for over 20 years in various capacities as a pianist, band director, and worship leader. Her passion is to help people understand worship from a biblical perspective and its relationship to music. She loves teaching musicians how to be skillful with excellence while using their instruments to glorify God.

    In January 2024, Nichole married the love of her life, Tyler, and they now evangelize full-time while basing out of Porter, Texas, USA. She is currently the Communications Director for The Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies and enjoys reading, drinking coffee, and exploring museums in her free time.
